The path I took to heal from Long Covid

Healing from Long Covid did not happen because one doctor gave me the perfect treatment or because I discovered a miracle supplement. In fact, in the early months of the pandemic, doctors often told me there was nothing wrong with me. My first symptoms appeared when the world was still trying to understand what Covid even was.

Healing happened because I slowly learned to listen—to my body, to my nervous system, and to the wisdom of people who had walked similar paths before me. Not necessarily the path of Long Covid, but journeys through illnesses such as traumatic brain injury, cancer, and even ALS. The unimaginable recovery stories of others became my guide (Radical Remission).

My recovery became a mosaic: a collection of small practices, insights, and teachers whose work helped me understand what my body was trying to say.

What follows is not a prescription. It is the path I walked.

Small steps. Trying new things with very limited energy, while my brain could barely retain new information and my body was filled with pain and unfamiliar sensations. Progress often came slowly and quietly, through patience and curiosity rather than certainty.

And perhaps, within these pages, you will recognise pieces that resonate with your own journey.

Along the way, I learned from many different sources. The research of physicians such as Dr. Daniel Amen helped me understand the brain as an organ that can heal and change. His work on brain health and neuroplasticity offered hope during a time when my memory, concentration, and cognitive clarity felt almost completely lost.

I was also deeply inspired by the work of Dr. Kelly Turner, whose research on radical remissions revealed that extraordinary recoveries often involve far more than medical treatment alone. Her work pointed toward patterns of healing that included emotional, nutritional, spiritual, and lifestyle changes.

From there, my exploration widened. I learned from many voices within the broader field of holistic health and healing. The teachings of Medical Medium, Kris Carr, Tony Robbins, Mindvalley, and The Satvic Movement, among others, offered perspectives on nutrition, detoxification, personal and spiritual growth, and living in greater harmony with the body’s natural rhythms.

While their approaches differed, they shared a common message: the body possesses a remarkable capacity to heal when it is given the right environment and support.

I approached these teachings with curiosity rather than blind belief. With very limited energy and a brain that struggled to retain information, I experimented carefully—taking small steps, observing how my body responded, and slowly shaping a path that felt aligned with my own experience.

Teachers such as Jay Shetty helped me experience the support of a welcoming community through meditation and workshops that encouraged reflection and growth during the healing process. Jim Kwik helped me explore cognitive recovery through his book Limitless and his workshops. Their teachings gave me tools to rebuild trust in my mind at a time when my brain fog felt overwhelming.

Each voice contributed a piece of the puzzle.

None of them had the complete answer to Long Covid. But together, their insights helped me create a framework for healing that was both practical and deeply personal.

Healing did not mean returning to who I once was. Instead, I am becoming someone who learns, day by day, to make conscious choices in a life where less is possible—and where life itself has become far more meaningful and fulfilling.
